Tonight was a fairly humorous one.
My singles ward gets together once a month to test out local restaurant cuisine. Tonight's location was Mekong, a Thai Restaurant on State Street. (Sidenote - it's absolutely DELICIOUS!)
There's a girl in my ward with Down Syndrome by the name of Celeste. Shauna and I were her chauffeur's this evening and we drove her to and from the ward dinner.
The highlight of the evening was when we were driving. I asked Celeste what her favorite song was. She immediately replied "I Believe in Christ" (one of her favorite hymns). I asked her if she likes Justin Beiber. She said "Oh yeah, I like him". So, I decided to turn on the song "Baby". I knew Celeste would like it because 1 - It has an easy chorus and 2 - it's upbeat.
Wow, I sure underestimated her love for that song. She caught on to the lyrics really quick and was singing and dancing like crazy. During dinner she could be heard singing it to herself over and over and then when it was time to go she kept looking at Shauna and saying "Hey, Baby, Baby - let's go" and then she would continue to sing "Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby" over and over.
Any guess for what song we listened to on the way home? :)
By far the two greatest moments of the whole thing was when Celeste was singing the chorus and started adding things like "B-A-B-Y" and "M-I-N-E" and when she started waving her cell phone in the air to the beat.
I never thought I would say this - but, Justin Beiber, you made for some great entertainment and lots of fun times tonight.
Thanks Baby.
Or should I say, B-A-B-Y?

I really did love it when she started waving her cell phone in the air. Diva. :)
Haha, this is so funny! I remember a Celeste from special needs mutual...I wonder if it's the same one?
Thanks for the laugh Amy!
I'm almost positive it's the same one - she's a legend. :) Love it!
